Bubba Gump... Part 4

Ah, part 4... i hope you can bear with me because it is quite long...after all i need to cover most of their menu's. This meal, i forgot the name and i'm really sorry. It consist of soft lobster tails and prawns deep fried with cajun. It is served over a bed of fries in a bucket. Unique i have to say. But it is a bit salty and i was worried about my blood pressure. But hey, again, once in a while is ok. No worries...

This is the New York Strip steak, Looks tempting and delicious. The mash baked potatoes is baked with Monterey cheese and it is really tasty. The meat though is a bit disappointing, it was rubbery and not so juicy and tender as i expected it to be. But it was ok overall. I love their onion rings. Golden brown and crispy.

Bubba Gump... Part 3

This is the the prawn and linguini pasta. Juicy whole prawns skinless of course, cooked with a lemon and garlic tossed with linguine and served with garlic bread. The lemon garlic sauce really compliments the tender, juicy prawns. Not to mention, they were very generous with the amount of prawns there. This meal is very balanced in terms of sourness and sweetness. Yummy...

This is the restaurants famous dish, Baramundi with mash potatoes and prawns served with Bubba Gump's special sauce topped with tortilla chips. This dish is sinful and extremely tasty and of course fattening. But hey, no food will ever be delicious without any fat. Don't forget to order this dish if you are planning to visit Babba Gump soon...

This is the famous shrimp platter. I would recommend this menu for those who can't decide to order whats on the menu. But this dish can be shared for 2 persons as it is big in portion. There is enough types of prawns to cover the whole menu and the dish that they are serving in this restaurant mostly. There is the deep fried tempura, coconut coated deep fried, bread crumb deep fried and the simple steamed prawns. They are served with cocktail sauce, sweet sauce (Bubba Gump's speciality) and the Tempura Soya sauce. It is also served with a bed of French fries and coleslaw...yummy yet again..

This is prawns stuffed with crab meat and baked with monterey cheese served with rice and Parmesan cheese bread. This dish although it is the waiters recommendation, but i have to say it is a bit of disappointment. This dish is very rich and i have to say decadent too. But the flavor is missing. Something lacks in this dish. But you can give it a try though and give me your comments about this dish.

So i will post part 4 this evening after i finish my gym training. So keep reading and do leave your comments and critiques. Enjoy..

Bubba Gump... Part 2

Here is the desert menu which i thought was quite interesting. It's attached on a ping pong bat. The table setting was ok but it was a bit cramp up. I wish there was a bit more space. But overall, the place was good and and hectic.

The other interesting part about this restaurant, whenever you need to get any service from the waiters, just flash these red "STOP FOREST STOP" sign and almost immediately the will approach your table and ask what can they do for you.

AS for this sign, if you don't need any help or services from the waiters and waitresses, then simply leave this blue on and you can enjoy your meal peacefully..

The table setting was nice except for the fact that this bucket where they place the sauces is a bit large and some parts of the table was wasted therefore disturbing our feast. But the rest was yet again good.

Bubba Gump... Part 1

Today i went to visit the first Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Malaysia situated at the curve in Mutiara Damansara. Seriously i had no idea at first about what to order since this restaurant is new to me. The first idea that came to me was, to order their specialty which is shrimp. Is you're a shrimp lover, then Bubba Gump is the place for you.

The drinks shown here, which i highly recommend you is the blueberry smoothie. It's different than any other drinks that i have drank which contains blueberries in it. It's yummy ! and a must try for new comers to this place. The glass behind is the mango specialty. It contains mango juice, lime, sparkling water. A real thirst quencher..

This is our appetizer, Onion rings. First we thought it was the normal sized onions. But the moment we got our appetizer, our jaw dropped looking at huge, chunky, golden brown onion rings. It's very juicy as the onions are huge. The onions are stacked together on a pole. The onion rings were served with 2 choices of sauces. Barbecue and Bubba Gump's special dipping sauce...

Bounty-full

When it comes to beef ribs, you can always count on Tony Roma's to tantalize your taste buds with his bountiful beef ribs. Not only is it cheaper compared with Victoria Station or Jake's, but it is so tasty and scrumptious like those expensive steaks you can find in those exclusive restaurants. You can choose this ribs with or without its bones. In my opinion, its better if you take the ribs with their bones together because you'll end up getting more meat compared to the boneless one's.

When ordering this meal, you can choose any two side dishes to accompany your beef ribs. You can choose from corn on the cob, French fries, baked potatoes, coleslaw and much more.

As a tradition, you'll be given the famous Tony Roma's barbecue sauces to dip that juicy, tender beef or you can savor your beef just as it is and don't forget to get those bips on before you make your way into the beef ribs...

This is a must try for newbies to this restaurant...

Mdm. Kwan's

Yesterday i went to visit Madam Kwan's restaurant situated in KLCC or Kuala Lumpur City Center at level 4 next to Petrosains. This restaurant have been a place where food lovers would go to savor the great tasting dishes from local to international cuisines.

For starters , pictured here is the deep fried prawn fritters. Served with tartar sauce, and garnished with garden vegetables. The prawn's size portion is just nice, it's tender and yummy...

This dish is called Nasi Bojari or Bojari rice. This is one of the best seller in Madam Kwan's. A must try for those planning to visit Madam Kwan's for the first time. Fragrant Bojari rice served with whole chicken thigh and drumstick accompanied by beef rendang and acar udang. The side dishes really compliments the rice. I have to warn though, the chicken is huge..

Next is the Malaysian all time favourites, the chicken rice or nasi ayam in malay. Of course you can get other types of chicken rice outside, but what makes this chicken rice different from other chicken rice is that it is served with soft shitake mushrooms. Therefore it is called mushroom chicken rice. The chicken is steamed and served with a light soya sauce. This dish is also accompanied with 2 other sauces which is the chilli paste and garlic sauce. The chicken is extremely tender and it melts in your mouth. ahh...

This dish is called Cantonese Kuey tiaw. Its simple, healthy and filling. The Kuey tiaw is first fried up with soya sauce before the gravy is made. The gravy is made out of either chicken or beef stock, eggs, and corn flour for the thickening agent. There is huge chunks of chicken, skinless prawns and squids. It is eaten simply the way it is or accompanied by cut chillies (extremely HOT!) in soya sauce.

Difference between speaking and listening

Its amazing how our brain perceives what is spoken to us. Wrong message could give others the wrong idea's...

09 April 2008

On a recent visit to Langkawi Island with my friend, i continued my journey searching for great places that serves scrumptious foods on this hot n sunny island besides the typical activity which is shopping. Not far away from where i am staying, situated in Pantai Cenang, is a restaurant called Rasa. With a Balinese infused concept blended with local malay settings, this place is decent and relaxing. Besides that, they produce good foods at an affordable price.

There is a special place right outside the restaurant created specially for barbecuing fresh seafoods such as Tiger prawns, crabs and a variety of fishes for customers to choose from. Here customers choose their seafoods first before the type of cooking is being chosen. Customers can simply barbeque it or let it be cooked by the chef.

Pictured here is the Garlic butter prawn. Deep fried with a special batter, this prawn is later cooked with garlic butter sauce to accompany the prawns. Believe me, it is very delicious.

This is deep fried squid served with sweet Thai chili sauce. Simple food yet very filling. I recommend this meal to be accompanied with any kind of fried rice or just plain steamed rice.

What would a trip to Malaysia be (tourist) without ever tasting the famous Char Kuey Tiaw. Cooked in soya sauce, this is the all time favorites by local Malaysians. A must have on the list when tourist are planning to visit Malaysia.

Therefore, those who are planning to visit Langkawi should pay a visit to Rasa restaurant situated in Pantai Cenang. It's situated right next to the road and can easily be spotted.

Haagen Daz...

When I'm having sugar cravings, the place i would recommend and visit would be Haagen Daz. Nothing beats Haagen Daz for having the best ice cream in the world. Pictured above are warm Belgian waffles served with 2 scoops of ice cream, What a beginning to treat those sugar cravings of mine. "yummy.." But for those of you who are looking for a guilt free ice cream, i would recommend their fruit sorbets. At first you may thought it will be sour, but i reckon visitors to try it out because it is very delicious even though it is reduced in fat. The taste is simply out of this world. Picture below is the sorbet i was talking about. Try it out and you won't regret it..

Thai affair....

Yesterday, my family members payed a visit to Absolute Thai in Ikano Power Center to get some Thai fixes, you know what i mean...

I ordered stir friend noodles with prawns, it was very light but was satisfying at the same time. Uniquely, it was served with crushed peanuts that was supposed to be mixed together with the noodles. But i find it weird therefore i set it aside.

To accompany my noodle, we ordered a dish called weeping tiger. I wonder why such name is used. Did i go and weep? yeah. The tender meat cooked in a gravy served with mix vegetables in a hot plate really got me weeping for more. Within 5 minutes, it was clean and clear. You can imagine how good it was...ahh

As for desert, all of us ordered the delicious and decadent mouth watering water chestnut in coconut milk topped with preserved jack fruit. I recommend to all those whom are going to pay a visit to this restaurant to try out this fabulous desert. Now that's what i call uniquely Thailand !...
